MuscleTech Gakic Pro Series - 128 Caplets

Tony Page is a 32-year old bodybuilder that trains at Hard Nock’s gym, a very old school dungeon gym that is very basic. This is the same gym where John Cena started out. We decided to interview Tony to see how he started out and ask him a few questions about bodybuilding. Phenom Labs (www.phenomlabs.com) is sponsoring Tony in his journeys as a competitive bodybuilder.

Us: How did you get started with bodybuilding?

Tony: I’m 32 now, but I was very very skinny when I was younger. I started training at 18 to get bigger. At age 21, I decided to try my first bodybuilding show and I loved it. In the past 12 years I have done over 20 shows. I’ve been working with my good buddy Jose Raymond, who is a genius.

Us: Where are you now in Bodybuilding and what is in the future?

Tony: I just picked up a sponsorship from a small supplement company. I want to compete clean. I won a a junior national tall class back in 2001 at an all natural ANBC event. By staying clean I hope to achieve my professional status in a smaller organization. I’m looking to win my first overall. I have won my class probably 12 to 14 times, but have always missed the overall. I have 30 lonely trophies that are waiting for an overall! Haha.

Us: What gives you the drive to be a Bodybuilder?

Tony: I feel its a god given gift. I am extremely intense and focused.. I know what I want, and I won’t stop until I achieve it!! My family gives me so much drive, and I have lost friends in battle which motivates me to live my life to the fullest since they can longer. I also love being the best, and I’m very competitive.

Us. How did you end up building your physique? What were the most important tools for you as a bodybuilder?

Tony: Intensity and consistency. I train very heavy year round, year after year. Heavy squats, heavy deadlifts, heavy rows, heavy pressing. Very simple, but very hardcore. I trained 2 years down in Arlington with Ronnie Coleman for a weekend, after seeing his approach I tried to mimic it.

Us: Is Ronnie the sole reason you mimic the heavy movements, or do you feel like that is also just what works for you?

Tony: That’s just what really works for me. Plus, mentally I cannot train right. My mind won’t let me. The stronger the muscle, the bigger it will get to adapt. At least that’s what I believe and that’s what has always worked best for me. I started out at 18 at 135 lbs… and have been as heavy as 265 lbs of season and 218 lbs shredded on stage.

Us: What initially made you decide to get bigger?

Tony: I just hated being tall and lanky. I never thought when I started I would have been this involved in the sport 14 years later.
