Dennis Wolf one day after 2010 New York Pro

MuscleTech Gakic Pro Series - 128 Caplets

In case you haven’t heard, the NY professional IFBB bodybuilding competition just took place recently. We saw a great lineup of very conditioned athletes and were surprised that Roelly Winklaar stole the show. One person however did not live up to the hype that was placed around him and ended up coming in a respectable 3rd place. This person was Dennis Wolf.

Dennis Wolf is a bodybuilder from Germany. He has had two top 5 placings at the Mr. Olympia competition – the highest and most recognized bodybuilding competition in the world. Dennis did not even place at the 2009 Mr. Olympia competition, so this was his show to redeem himself. Dennis has been working with various trainers but has not seemed to find what works right for him as far as contest preparation and the timing aspects of it.

Many people were not impressed with his New York Pro showing, but comparing him to his 2008 Mr. Olympia showing where he placed 4th, I would have to say that if he just timed his contest preparation, he would be far ahead of even that physique. Regardless of what “would have happened” and what “could have happened”, Dennis made a major improvement from his last showing at the 2009 Mr. Olympia.

Dennis Wolf one day after the New York Pro

d2Surprisingly just one day after the show, Dennis appeared to have obtained his best conditioning. Although the lighting was different, as this was a photo shoot, and the use of photoshop may come into play, we can say that the picture we see on the right from BSN is a MAJOR improvement and most likely would have given Dennis Wolf the show. Even with the different lighting Dennis displays insane quad striations that he has not had at any of his past competitions and seems to be much bigger as well.

Can we hope that Dennis has finally found out what he needs to do to make the adjustments correctly come contest time?  Dennis is very young and has a long bodybuilding future ahead of him.  By placing in the top 5 at the New York pro, he has secured himself a spot in the 2010 Mr. Olympia, where he will go up against competitors such as the reigning Mr. Olympia, Jay Cutler, and the Arnold Classic winner for the past 2 years, Kai Greene. He also has a lot more stiff competition, such as Roelly Winklaar and Hidetada Yamagishi, the two people that placed ahead of him at the New York Pro.

Only time can tell! Keep checking back here for news and updates on various bodybuilders such as Dennis Wolf.
