Eugene Mishin is a giant, taller bodybuilder from St. Petersburg, Russia. Eugene now resides in LA, California. Standing 6’2″ and weighing 290 pounds in competition condition, Eugene is definitely one of the largest – if not the largest – professional bodybuilder in terms of overall weight on the stage today.
Eugene was born February 21, 1976. He did not participate in many physical activities as a sport. He wrestled for two years and took a karate class for a year, but eventually found his place in bodybuilding when he became active in the gym.
The Russian monster was also involved in powerlifting early on which he attributes most of his strength to which he involves in his bodybuilding routine as well. Eugene is known to consistently squat more than 700 pounds routinely for multiple working sets.
Although it is hard for taller bodybuilders to place well in competitions due to their elongated muscle bellies and such, Eugene is headed in the right direction and continues to improve himself year after year. He placed in the top three in the 2010 Orlando Europa Show of Champions which qualified him to compete in the 2010 Mr. Olympia competition.
Although he does not yet hold any major bodybuilding titles, Eugene displays incredible conditioning and work ethic that deserves recognition on the same level as the other hardest working bodybuilders in the scene today – such as Branch Warren. Being 350 pounds in the off season, there is no mystery that Eugene must consume massive quantities of food in order to maintain his size and put on muscle mass, but he is doing so without destroying his physique (i.e an extended abdomen that most pro’s display today).
In an April, 2011 training video of Eugene from RXMuscle, we see a pre-contest Eugene training for the 2011 Europa Show of Champions, only this time with around 20 extra pounds than last year.
